Are microwaveable wheat bags safe?

With the proper care they are very safe. Please follow the instructions that come with the wheat bag. Always allow your wheat bag to cool completely before placing it in the microwave to reheat. To avoid the wheat in your microwaveable wheat bag drying out too much you can add a small cup of water to the microwave when heating the wheat bag and this will reintroduce some moisture to the wheat. Regularly inspect your wheat bag for any signs of wear or damage and replace if necessary.

How long do microwaveable wheat bags last?

With correct care and storage, your microwaveable wheat bag should last for many years.

I don't have a microwave, can I heat my wheat bag in the oven?

We do not advise heating a wheat bag in a conventional oven if a microwave is available, however, if wrapped in foil, your wheat bag can be heated for 15 minutes at 175c or 325f, turning every 5 minutes. For a fan oven, temperatures should be reduced accordingly.

How do microwave wheat bags work?

When heated in a microwave, the wheat inside the bag absorbs and stores heat, which is then gradually released. This provides soothing warmth for up to an hour or so. The cotton layer helps regulate the flow of this heat for consistent comfort.

Can I wash my microwaveable wheat bag?

You should not wash the microwaveable wheat bag itself however, the wheat bags we sell come with removable cotton covers and these can be machine washed to keep your microwaveable wheat bag looking and feeling great.

Can I freeze my microwaveable wheat bag?

Yes, simply pop your microwaveable wheat bag in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes (although you can leave it in there indefinitely if you wish), the wheat grains do not clump together which makes our microwaveable wheat bags the perfect cold pack for bumps, bruises, injuries and headaches as it will mould to whatever shape you require.
