Fun Cotton Tea Towels FAQ

What do you use tea towels for?

The most obvious use for tea towels is for drying dishes but you can also use clean tea towels to cover freshly baked cakes or bread that have just come out of the oven or use to keep salad leaves/greens crisp.

What tea towels are the best?

Cotton tea towels are great all-rounders. Soft, absorbent and hard-wearing you'll be hard-pushed to see past a good-quality cotton tea towel. Of course, throw in a cute or eye-catching design and you've got yourself a talking point for dinner parties, a piece of practical artwork or a fabulous housewarming gift.

How many tea towels do I need?

Well, that all depends on how addicted you are. As a rule of thumb, if you wash them once a week 14 is a good number however, large households may benefit from a few more.

Can you advise me how to store tea towels?

Yes, I have a tea towel drawer but if you do not have a drawer available a basket can be used. I like to iron my tea towels and fold them using the KonMari folding method, which involves folding the towel in half on the long side, then folding one end to meet the other, and finally folding it into thirds like a letter, this makes for a very satisfying tea towel drawer.

Can tea towels be used as hand towels?

Yes, however, for hygiene reasons, I would recommend using two towels in the kitchen, one for drying dishes and one for drying hands.

Can you tell me how to wash tea towels?

All our tea towels can be machine washed but please refer to the manufacturer's care label for each brand's advice.
